Team: Interactive Location: and Remote Position Date posted: April 2, 2026 As a Shopify Developer, you will be responsible for building and implementing high-quality, scalable full-stack web solutions for premier e-commerce brands. This role bridges the gap between creative vision and technical execution, working alongside Project Managers and UI/UX designers to move projects from kick-off to successful deployment. Core Responsibilities

  • Development: Write clean, performant code (Liquid, HTML, CSS, JavaScript) for custom Shopify themes and complex functional requirements.
  • Accessibility: Ensure all web experiences are inclusive and accessible, developing in alignment with WCAG 2.2 Level AA compliance standards.
  • Collaboration: Partner with the UI/UX team to translate designs into functional end-user experiences.
  • Strategy: Analyze client requirements and work with Project Managers to estimate task complexity, identify dependencies, and provide accurate development timelines.
  • Quality Assurance: Review, test, and provide peer feedback on code to maintain high standards. Work with the QA team to develop robust test plans for client approval.
  • Maintenance & Innovation: Proactively identify issues within existing codebases and suggest optimizations. Stay current with industry trends and Shopify’s evolving feature set.

Qualifications

  • Experience: 3+ years of dedicated experience developing on the Shopify Plus platform.
  • Shopify Expertise: Proficiency with the Shopify CLI, theme development, and deep knowledge of Liquid.
  • Frontend Mastery: Advanced knowledge of HTML5, CSS/SCSS, and modern JavaScript (ES6+, Promises, Classes).
  • Technical Stack: Experience with jQuery, AJAX, and API integrations (REST and/or GraphQL).
  • Proficiency with version control systems (Git, GitHub, Bitbucket).
  • Familiarity with build tools and cloud platforms (Gulp, etc.).
  • Process: Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments using tools like Asana or Jira.
  • Soft Skills: Strong self-management abilities and excellent written/verbal communication skills for both internal teams and client-facing interactions.
  • AI Proficient: We value AI as an assistive tool to speed up delivery and code iteration. We do not outsource our thinking, just the grunt work. No vibe coding!
  • Availability: must be able to work during Eastern time zone business hours. Candidates residing in NY, CA, or outside the US are not eligible for this position.

Nice to Haves

  • E-commerce Ecosystem: Experience with subscription apps and and third-party integrations such as Skio, Recharge, Rebuy, Smarter
  • Modern Frameworks: Hands-on experience with React.js.
  • WordPress: Experience building custom themes and plugins from scratch or starter themes.
  • No-Code/Low-Code: Proficiency with Webflow, Squarespace, and Wix for rapid site deployment.
  • Agency Background: Previous experience working within a digital agency environment.

What You’ll Do Day-to-Day

  • Execute: Take ownership of assigned tasks, delivering high-quality code that meets specific project milestones.
  • Communicate: Keep Project Managers updated on ticket status and progress within PM software.
  • Solve: Use superb troubleshooting skills to debug complex issues across various browsers and devices.
  • Deploy: Prepare project releases, coordinate deployment windows with project management, and provide hotfixes when necessary.
