Responsibilities:
As a Ramp Agent, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient handling of cargo and passengers at our airport facilities. Your duties will include:
- Securing cargo, baggage, and mail from damage, loss, or weather conditions
- Safely lifting, loading, unloading, and transporting cargo, baggage, and mail to and from aircraft
- Operating ground equipment such as dollies, belt loaders, and tow tractors in areas of congestion
- Working with scanners and computers to ensure accurate tracking and delivery of cargo and baggage
- Booking flights based on operational needs
- Working varied shifts, including early morning and late evening hours, depending on flight schedules
- Collaborating with other team members to ensure seamless operations and excellent customer service
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A high school diploma or equivalent
- A valid driver's license
- Proficiency in English
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including hearing protection, safety toe footwear, and high-visibility clothing
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with varying temperatures and weather conditions
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to lift, push, and pull heavy objects (up to 50-70 pounds)
- Ability to stand for long periods and walk on uneven surfaces
Preferred Qualifications:
* Previous experience in a customer service or operations role
- Knowledge of airport operations and safety procedures
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with scanning equipment
- Ability to adapt to changing situations and priorities
