Job title: Associate/Full Professor, Morsani Science Education Company: Oklahoma State University Job description: Morsani Endowed Chair in Science Education School of Teaching, Learning and Educational Sciences August 2024 POSITION: The Science and Mathematics Education program, housed in the School of Teaching, Learning, and Educational Sciences (STLES) in the College of Education and Human Sciences at Oklahoma State University, is seeking a leading thinker and outstanding education professional. Candidates at the rank of associate or full are welcome, with exceptional candidates at the rank of full professor eligible for the Morsani Endowed Chair in Science Education. We seek candidates with strong external funding trajectories and experiences, who will serve as a research mentor for our vibrant Science and Mathematics Education program. The Science and Mathematics Education (SMED) program prepares students to be leaders in both formal and informal education settings. The science education faculty participates in partnerships with schools in Oklahoma and participates in research grants and collaborations through the Center for Research on STEM Teaching and Learning (CRSTL), which offers a unique platform for research opportunities. Science Education faculty teach undergraduate science education courses within the elementary education and OSUTeach (secondary) programs. In addition to offering undergraduate coursework both on-campus and online programs, the program offers graduate courses in support of Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy degrees. This faculty member will join a group of science and mathematics education faculty who are active as researchers, instructors, and grant writers, and who are significantly involved in a variety of national organizations. RESPONSIBILITIES: The new faculty should demonstrate an interest in the university's land grant mission, and a desire to make a positive impact on the community through service, extension, and outreach efforts. In particular, the new faculty should become a leader in STLES, CEHS, community, state, and beyond as related to special education. The faculty should build positive relationships with the K-12 school community as well as be an active participant in state/regional/national/international Science Education research organizations.

• Responsibilities for this faculty position include:
• Teaching undergraduate and graduate courses;
• Engaging in scholarly activities leading to grants, presentations, and publications related to the position;
• Recruiting and mentoring junior faculty and graduate students; and
• Participating in committee service to the department, college, university, and community.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: · An earned doctorate with an emphasis in Science Education, or related area; · An established and sustained research agenda; · History of external funding success; · National visibility in Science Education; · Evidence of consistently high quality teaching; · Evidence of collegiality and collaboration at both the higher education levels and with public school communities; and · Commitment to educational and social equity. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: · Minimum of three years of successful full-time K-12 classroom teaching experience in U.S. public schools; · Experience teaching and working with preservice teachers and in-service science education teachers; · Strong technology integration skills; and · Experience in teaching and learning in online learning environments.
