Job title: Paraeducator - EL Company: Apache Junction Unified School District Job description: Works under supervision in the performance of any combination of following instructional tasks in classroom to assist teacher of EL students by performing the following duties: ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Assists by carrying out instructional guidelines set up by EL Teacher.
• Works with students one-on-one or in small groups.
• Prepares various teaching aids such as charts, and graphs.
• Travel daily to both Desert Vista and Peralta Trail to assist in the EL program.
• Presents subject matter to students, utilizing variety of methods and techniques such as lecture, discussion, supervised role playing, and uses technology to assist in instruction.
• Provides assistance with identifying, scheduling, and assessing of EL students.
• Assist teacher with updating and maintaining accurate student records.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Completion of two years or more at an accredited college or university or an Associate's Degree or higher, or written verification of a passing score on the state Parapro test. For Associate's degree or completion of two years or more at an accredited college or university, original transcripts are required. Knowledge of a foreign language is helpful. SEI Endorsement preferred. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. REASONING ABILITY Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. PHYSICAL DEMANDS
