The Department of World Languages and Cultures at Utah State University invites applications for an Adjunct Instructor position in Spanish beginning August 28, 2023. The course is part of Spanish Lower Division and is designed for beginner students or with a Spanish proficiency lower than Intermediate High.
Responsibilities
- A successful candidate must be qualified to teach lower division (1000 and 2000 level) language and culture, deliver instruction face-to-face to University students, and collaborate with other lower division Spanish instructors. Sections of this course will be offered on the Logan campus of USU.
- All classes are offered in person, MWF. The instructor is also expected to hold office hours in person on campus and attend lower division Spanish meetings. Native or near-native fluency in Spanish is a prerequisite.
- A complete syllabus is provided to all instructors. Instructors follow the course scope-and-sequence and develop lesson plans working toward unit and course assessments.
- One year of language teaching experience
- Native or Near-Native Spanish language proficiency
- A Masters in Second Language Teaching
