Interim Financial Controller – DUK&I

Shape the financial backbone of a complex, fast‑moving business We’re looking for a hands‑on, commercially aware Financial Controller who can bring order, rigour, and confidence to a multi‑entity, multi‑system environment. This is a role for someone who loves financial control, thrives on complexity, and knows how to build trust through accuracy, governance, and rock‑solid balance sheet discipline.

What will your day look like:

What you’ll lead

Own end‑to‑end financial control across DUK&I, ensuring true balance sheet integrity Drive a smooth, accurate, and timely month‑end close, every time Oversee and challenge balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring issues are resolved quickly Maintain compliance with accounting standards, internal controls, and group policies Act as the go‑to contact for auditors, leading the year‑end audit with confidence Strengthen governance across multiple finance systems and processes Identify opportunities to improve controls, processes, and data quality Support the development of a consistent finance operating model across the region Lead, coach, and develop finance team members within your remit

Knowledge and Abilities:

What you bring

Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent) Deep experience in financial control and balance sheet management in complex environments Comfortable operating across multiple entities and systems (3E, Sage, D365, Planful a plus) Strong understanding of reconciliations, statutory reporting, and financial governance Confident engaging senior stakeholders and non‑finance teams Pragmatic, delivery‑focused, and always looking for ways to improve This is a role for someone who wants to take ownership, bring clarity, and leave things stronger than they found them.
