The Role

As a Customer Service Representative – Union Benefits Specialist, you'll play a critical role in educating union members about the benefits available to them through their affiliation. Your primary responsibility will be to provide exceptional customer service, answering questions, and addressing concerns in a professional and courteous manner. You'll also have the opportunity to upsell additional benefits to customers who express interest, but only if they desire to do so. No cold calling or aggressive sales tactics are required – we value our relationships with union associations and respect their members' needs.

Key Responsibilities:

* Provide exceptional customer service to union members, responding to inquiries and addressing concerns in a timely and professional manner

  • Educate members about the benefits available to them through their union affiliation
  • Upsell additional benefits to customers who express interest, but only if they desire to do so
  • Collaborate with internal teams to resolve complex issues and ensure seamless service delivery
  • Stay up-to-date on industry developments and regulatory changes to provide accurate and informed guidance to customers
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge

Essential Qualifications:

* 1+ year of customer service experience in a call center or similar environment

  • Proven track record of delivering exceptional customer service and resolving complex issues
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with customers and internal stakeholders
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities
  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including evenings and weekends
  • Fluency in English (Bilingual in any language is a plus, but not required)

Preferred Qualifications:

* Experience working with labor unions, credit unions, or associations

  • Knowledge of benefits and insurance products, including health, life, and disability insurance
  • Familiarity with customer relationship management (CRM) software and other technology platforms
  • Certification in customer service or a related field (e.g., Certified Customer Service Representative (CCSR))
