REPORTING RELATIONSHIP
The Teacher reports to the Early Learning Manager.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Must have regular, reliable and punctual attendance.
- Set up and maintain a safe, healthy, developmentally appropriate learning environment.
- Complete and execute daily lesson plans based on individual children?s needs that include all aspects of the Creative Curriculum.
- Maintain program documentation on children and families including formal and informal parent contacts.
- Support, encourage and document parent involvement including father involvement.
- Document and communicate children?s progress using TS GOLD assessment tool.
- Administer, score and communicate results of the programs chosen developmental assessment as required by Performance Standards.
- Utilize results of the developmental screening for individualization with in the classroom.
- Complete all paperwork, document, communicate and execute the Student Assistance Team (SAT) process and disabilities referral process as requested by the LISD.
- Utilize and document interventions as given in child behavioral plans, IEPs, or IFSPs.
- Observe and document children?s activities and interactions through anecdotal notes.
- Complete, data enter, and communicate playground checklist and concerns
- Implementation of the program?s Safety & Injury Prevention System including Active Supervision.
- Work and communicate effectively as part of a team environment.
- Document any contributions to the classroom.
- Complete Creative Curriculum Training.
- Attend meetings and program functions, as assigned.
- Maintain positive relationships with staff, parents, program volunteers, and outside agencies.
- Develops and maintains working relationships with peers to promote a positive work culture.
- Participate in and provide support for the recruitment of eligible children and families to ensure continuous full enrollment.
- Actively assist the program in reaching non-federal share/match (in kind) goals, in accordance with federal guidelines.
- Maintain confidentiality.
- Follows all Program, Board, and Policy Council policies, procedures, state laws and regulations, Head Start Performance Standards, and Michigan Child Care Licensing rules.
- Provides support to other positions as required.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Director or designee.
- Associate degree in Early Childhood Education or equivalent, Bachelor?s in Early Childhood Education preferred, for Head Start Teachers.
- Experience and training working with infants and toddlers for Early Head Start classrooms
- Experience and training working with preschoolers for Head Start classrooms
- Bilingual (English/Spanish), preferred.
