Overview

As Software Engineer - I, you will enhance, implement, and sustain test automation processes, practices, and controls in support of faster time to market and quality within the software delivery lifecycle. You will follow our test automation strategy by building requirements and design code to ensure implementation and execution of our automation test environment. You will also be responsible for creating high quality, maintainable, and performant code for automated test cases and the frameworks to execute and report on.

This role requires you to oversee all aspects of software and product testing within the team. This may include developing test strategies, designing test documents, identifying bugs, and reviewing testing reports. You will be participating in functional, integration and regression testing of software products.

What you will do

  • Contribute to writing, updating, and maintaining automated test scripts within existing frameworks
  • Perform functional, regression, smoke, and exploration testing during sprint cycles
  • You will ensure test scripts are always up to date and monitor their status during every run
  • You will ensure proper reporting of Automated Test Execution results and have ability to provide detailed reports with failures analysis
  • You will closely coordinate with both Dev, QEs, Product Owners and DevOps in an agile setup with desire to have ownership from build, deployment, monitoring and operational support
  • You will be identifying potential quality issues and report them to development team.
  • You will be responsible for identification of test requirements from defined specifications, mapping test case requirements, and designing test coverage plans.
  • You will be executing both manual and automated test cases.
  • Hands-on knowledge of Continuous Integration process, and should be able to create and execute jobs pipeline

What we are looking for

  • 2+ years of software industry experience and successful track record in product automation
  • BE/BTech/MCA/Equivalent degree in Computer Science or a related technical field from an accredited university or college
  • You have hands-on experience in languages such as Java, Python, Rest Assured and Selenium/Playwright
  • You have worked on Agile methodology for software testing and development
  • You have worked on Test Designing, Test cases, Test scripts, Test Automation & Test Reporting
  • You have excellent problem solving and logical thinking skills and to understand the impact of technology on business challenges, processes, and efficiency
  • You have to influence and drive quality across teams, disciplines, and the organization
  • Leverage AI-assisted tools responsibly to improve test case creation, understand failures faster, and draft effective prompts under guidance.
  • Preferred Requirements:
    • Hands on with Java, JMeter, Postman, SoapUI, Rest Assured.
    • Hands on with UI automation tools like Selenium.
    • Experience with version control systems such as Git/Gitlab.
    • Good knowledge of Testing Concepts.
    • Good quantitative and analytical abilities.
