New College Grad Software Engineer (Backend)
Navan is on a mission to revolutionize the corporate journey as the world's only all-in-one travel, corporate card, and expense management platform. As a Backend Engineer on the Expense team, you will build the engine behind the seamless expense management platform, working closely with engineers, product managers, and designers to create innovative solutions and optimize backend infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the design and implementation of high-performance API endpoints and backend services that power our 'all-in-one' travel and expense platform
- Apply your knowledge of CS fundamentals to translate complex business logic into clean, scalable code using domain object modeling and modern ORM technologies
- Collaborate with senior mentors to navigate the real-world technical trade-offs required to build distributed backend processes that support a global user base
- Directly enhance the traveler experience by building and shipping innovative features that turn manual expense reporting into a seamless, 'no-touch' reality
- Gain hands-on experience across the entire development lifecycle, from architecting backend logic to ensuring the reliability of services in a production environment

Skills
- A BS or MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field
- Proven experience designing and implementing high-performance APIs and core backend services

- The ability to quickly implement, iterate, and pivot based on new ideas and customer feedback
