The Child Development Center Department of the Long Beach Community College District is seeking a qualified individual for a current opportunity as a Child Development Center Teacher The LBCC Child Development Centers and Lab Schools is committed to providing high-quality early childhood education and care to children in our community. AT-A-GLANCE POSITION INFORMATION
- Type of position: Full Time (M-F, shift is 8.5 hours per day, between the hours of 7:00 - 5:30)
- Locations: Liberal Art Campus (1) Pacific Coast Campus (2)
- Salary: Range $5,802.25 -$7,152.10 Monthly
- Advanced salary placement: Generally, new employees start at the first step on the salary schedule. Advanced salary placement may be considered on a case-by-case basis.

- All Long Beach Community College employees must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 by Jan 3, 2022 in compliance with District Policy. - May require a valid California driver's license and the ability to maintain insurability under the District's vehicle insurance policy.
- Possession of a Child Development Permit (CDP) at the Teacher level or above issued by the California Commission on Credentialing (CTC) prior to employment. It is the employee's responsibility to renew and maintain the Child Development Permit during their employment with the District.
- Employees must meet the requirements for Teacher within the period specified in regulations and grant requirements.
- Results of a TB test performed within 60 days of hire date.
- Proof of having received the MMR vaccine or immunity to Measles (Titers).
- Proof of having received the Pertussis/TDAP vaccine within the past 10 years.
- Proof of having received the Influenza vaccine or a signed waiver opting out.
- Valid First Aid/Adult and Pediatric CPR Certificate dated within one year prior to hire date.
- Current Adult and Pediatric CPR Certificate with Health & Safety Component (15 hours) if necessary.
- Fingerprints, Child Abuse Index, and FBI check submitted and cleared to the Department of Justice and on file with/or reported to the California Department of Social Services, Community Care Licensing Division prior to employment.
- Certificate of completion of California Child Abuse Mandated Reporter Online Training for General Training (4 hours) and Child Care Provider (3 hours).
- Certificate of completion in compliance with Healthy Schools Act Best Pest Management Practices Around Children (BASIC).
- Submit a completed online application through NEOGOV. All portions of the application must be entirely filled out to be considered for this position.
- If the position requires a college degree, transcripts or copy of a diploma, the required document must be attached at the time of application. Unofficial transcripts are accepted during this phase. For experience substitution in lieu of education, please make sure to attach a statement clearly outlining how your additional experience covers the education requirement, on a year-for-year basis, and qualifies you to be considered for this position.
- If you participate in and fail any examination segment, you must wait a period of 90 days (~3 months) to test again for the same classification.
