Job Description

As a Paraprofessional at Glenwood High School, you will play a vital role in supporting the classroom teacher in providing a positive, safe, and academically challenging learning environment for students. You will assist the teacher in instructional matters, provide support to students, and help to create a positive and inclusive school culture.

Responsibilities

* Assist the classroom teacher in providing a positive, safe, and academically challenging learning environment for students

• Assist teacher/supervisor in instructional matters as assigned
• Provide support to students, including academic support, behavioral support, and emotional support
• Help to create a positive and inclusive school culture
• Collaborate with teachers and other staff members to develop and implement lesson plans and instructional strategies
• Communicate with parents and guardians to keep them informed about their child's progress and well-being
• Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge

Minimum Requirements

* Must be 19 years of age or older

• Show proof of one (1) of the following requirements:

+ Bachelor's Degree or higher + 60 semester hours of college coursework + High School Diploma or High School Equivalency + Passing score on ACT Work Keys Test + Passing score on ETS ParaPro Test

• Hold one (1) of the following licenses:

+ Professional Educator's License (PEL) + Substitute License (SUB) + Educator License with Stipulations- (ELS-PARA)

* Experience working with students in a educational setting

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and other staff members
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and priorities
