About the role
We seek a skilled and motivated Traveling Wind Technician II to join our team. As a Wind Technician II, you will be responsible for the inspection, maintenance, and repair of wind turbines. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and reliable operation of our wind turbines, contributing to clean and renewable energy production. A wind technician is responsible for performing maintenance tasks on wind turbines within.
About the Role
Responsibilities: - Perform routine maintenance tasks on wind turbines, including inspections, lubrication, and component replacement. - Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic system issues. - Conduct preventive maintenance activities according to scheduled maintenance plans. - Perform repairs and replacements of faulty components, ensuring safe and efficient turbine operation. - Monitor and document turbine performance, including data collection and analysis. - Follow safety protocols and maintain a safe working environment at all times. - Collaborate with the operations team to optimize turbine performance and minimize downtime. - Complete maintenance reports and documentation accurately and in a timely manner. - Stay updated with industry advancements and participate in training programs to enhance skills and knowledge.
Qualifications/Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent. Technical or vocational training in wind turbine maintenance or related field is preferred. - Proven experience in wind turbine maintenance or a similar field is highly desirable. - Strong knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems commonly found in wind turbines. - Familiarity with SCADA systems and data analysis tools. - Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and service manuals. - Proficient in using hand and power tools. - Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently. - Ability to work at heights and in various weather conditions. - Strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety protocols. - Effective communication and teamwork skills.
Eligibility Requirements
- Ability and willingness to travel domestically 90% of the time, as required. - Ability and willingness to operate heavy equipment. - Ability and willingness to signal and rig loads up to 100 tons. - Ability and willingness to work and climb heights a minimum of 300ft. - Ability to meet specific OSHA weight limits of 250 to 300lbs max. - Ability and willingness to possess and maintain a valid driver's license. - Ability and willingness to handle repetitive weight - 50 lbs. - Ability and willingness to work in all weather conditions. - Ability and willingness to work in a range of environments including but not limited to industrial facilities, manufacturing facilities, and power industry facilities. - Ability and willingness to be available for rotation shift schedules 24 hours, seven days a week.
