The Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences at UCSF is seeking a Health Professional Education Specialist to provide extensive administrative and operational support to the Department's clinical training programs - ACGME Fellowship Programs in Addiction Psychiatry and Consultation Liaison Psychiatry. Operating within a vibrant and synergistic setting, the role of the Education Specialist offers a unique opportunity to engage in proactive interactions with residents, fellows, medical students, and esteemed faculty. Your pivotal responsibilities encompass maintaining confidential records, meticulously tracking attendance across essential educational initiatives, and providing informed guidance on training program administration policies. You'll orchestrate seamless scheduling, execute efficient event coordination, and spearhead various administrative functions during the recruitment season. Please note: The compensation ranges listed online for roles not covered by a bargaining unit agreement are very wide, however a job offer will typically fall in the range of 80% - 120% of the established mid-point. An offer will take into consideration the experience of the final candidate AND the current salary level of individuals working at UCSF in a similar role.
For roles covered by a bargaining unit agreement, there will be specific rules about where a new hire would be placed on the range.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in related or four years of equivalent relevant experience/training.
- Three years of applicable experience.
- Thorough knowledge of administrative analysis and operations research.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement processes and systems.
- Thorough knowledge of the administrative and operational implications of a program.
- Demonstrated experience and documented excellence in oral and written communication skills including listening and critical thinking.
- Strong interpersonal skills. Actively cooperates and supports the work of others.
- Ability to work productively with anyone regardless of background.
- Empathetic and aware of the impact on others.
- Strong problem-solving skills to assist learners and resolve issues.

- Master's degree in a related area.
