A Junior Data Warehouse Engineer designs, builds, and maintains data pipelines (ETL/ELT) and database systems to support analytical reporting. They work under supervision to write SQL queries, ensure data quality, and document technical processes, collaborating with senior engineers to transform raw data into usable business insights.

Essential Functions:

  • Data Pipelines (ETL/ELT): Assist in developing, testing, and maintaining data extraction, transformation, and loading processes.
  • SQL & Data Modeling: Write and optimize SQL queries and assist with basic data modeling to structure data for analytics.
  • Database Maintenance: Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot data warehouse infrastructure.
  • Data Quality Assurance: Perform data validation to ensure data accuracy, completeness, and reliability.
  • Documentation: Document data definitions, technical processes, and data mapping for data catalogs.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related technical field required (or equivalent practical experience).
  • 0-2 years of experience in data engineering, database administration, or data analysis

Required Skills

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in SQL (essential) and programming languages like Python or Java.
  • Database Knowledge: Familiarity with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL)
  • Data Concepts: Basic understanding of data warehousing concepts (star schema, snowflake schema, ETL/ELT).
  • ETL/ELT: Familiarity with data integration tools and technologies used for connecting to diverse data sources (e.g., Corepoint, REST APIs)
