Manufacturing Test Engineer, Global Manufacturing Engineering

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in hardware engineering or test engineering in manufacturing.
  • Experience in developing and integrating manufacturing test hardware using custom electronics, fixturing, and instrumentation.
  • Experience in managing test systems and processes to optimize manufacturability.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in design or test of server and networking products, with a focus on board and system-level functional tests in manufacturing.
  • Experience with coding in Python, and Shell scripting, and familiarity with Linux operating systems.
  • Knowledge of test stations bringing-up incorporating validation methodology (i.e., gage repeatability and reproducibility).
  • Ability to generate comprehensive test plans based on product specifications while effectively executes testing procedures.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex manufacturing issues collaboratively with the engineering team.
  • Ability to explore and apply new technologies like automation or data analytics, to enhance manufacturing tests in efficiency or cost reductions.

As a Manufacturing Engineer, you evaluate the product designs and create the processes, tools and procedures behind Google’s powerful search technology. Responsibilities

  • Develop and deploy test solutions for products in collaboration with Google's global manufacturing partners, while partnering with the NPI team to define comprehensive test requirements and provide Design for Test (DFT) expertise to ensure testability and manufacturability.
  • Maintain smooth test operations for sustaining products by leveraging extensive manufacturing test knowledge and ensuring timely and accurate deployment of software and hardware changes to manufacturing test systems.
  • Lead initiatives to optimize test processes, increase test coverage, and reduce costs, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive improvement in product quality.
  • Identify, analyze, and resolve manufacturing yield issues and field escapes, implementing preventive measures to ensure closure.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for test processes and procedures to ensure standardized practices with internal and external partners. Maintain test scripts to support new test features, software/firmware upgrades.
