We are currently seeking part-time teacher-tutors for a role in our learning center at GradePower Learning Palm Harbor. This position is perfect for anyone who loves working with students, enjoys teaching the ins and outs of language, math, among other subjects and is passionate about helping others build their skills in these areas. Work as few as four, and as many as twenty+ hours/week. You may start with a few hours, and add to them as we grow. It is a flexible position, and perfect for extra hours after the normal school day ends for teachers.
Teacher-Tutors at GradePower Learning do not have to lesson plan before class, as all lessons are pre-planned. Applicants will be fully trained in our proprietary philosophy and methods.
Position Requirements:
All Teacher-Tutors at GradePower Learning work portions of after-school and evening hours Mon - Thur (3:00pm - 7:00pm). Choose the number of days you work, and some Saturday morning classes may be available. A commitment until the end of the term in June is preferred. Continuing through the summer is even better. Your students will love working with you, and being reliable is a must.
Applicants with upper division math and science expertise and who scored well on the SAT/ACT will be trained to additionally coach SAT/ACT Prep program ($18/hour).
This role is in-person. You must be able to commute to this location. This is not an online position. Vulnerable sector screening is mandatory.

Education:
- Bachelor?s degree or similar certification in a relevant field
- Fourth year university students with extensive tutoring experience will be considered
- Teaching certification an asset but not required
- Good knowledge of the current 1st to 12th grade curriculum
- Some experience teaching/tutoring at a first to 12th grade (or equivalent) level is preferred
- SAT/ACT tutoring experience an asset but not required
- Strong English written and oral communication skills and ability to guide students' understanding
- Ability to multitask and balance working with up to three students at a time
- Teaching up to 3 students at a time at different levels
- Teaching is in-person
- Following the GradePower Learning methodologies and philosophies
- Filling in post-lesson notes
- Completing daily student communication updates
- Maintaining a friendly and professional manner at all times

- Choose the days you work. We hire as we are growing and there is the potential to add hours if you would like more (up to 20+).
- Mondays-Thursdays, 3:00-7:00, Fridays, 3:00-5:00. Partial shifts available, and minimum of two shifts/week
