Job Summary

As a REMOTE 988 Crisis Chat and Text Counselor, you will work from home, maintaining HIPAA compliance and focus, requiring a private office space. You will speak with consumers over the phone, connecting with people experiencing emotional distress or mental health issues, and provide them with the support and resources they need to navigate their challenges. Your role will involve:

• Building rapport and client engagement
• Assessing/mitigating risk and managing documentation while on calls
• Providing available resources or information needed
• Identifying safe, positive ways of coping and/or developing a safety plan
• Emergency intervention that may be needed
• Remaining calm and professional while multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment

Key Responsibilities

* Provide crisis intervention services to individuals experiencing emotional distress or mental health issues

• Connect with consumers over the phone, building rapport and client engagement
• Assess and mitigate risk, managing documentation while on calls
• Provide available resources or information needed, including referrals to local resources and services
• Identify safe, positive ways of coping and/or developing a safety plan
• Remain calm and professional while multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment
• Collaborate with other team members to ensure seamless service delivery

Essential Qualifications

* Bachelor's Degree from a 4-year accredited college or university

• 1 year experience in 988 chat and text or crisis intervention services
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, remaining calm and professional under pressure
• Strong assessment and documentation skills
• Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision
• Strong commitment to providing exceptional customer service

Preferred Qualifications

* Master's Degree in a related field (e.g., counseling, social work, psychology)

• Experience working with diverse populations, including individuals with mental health conditions, substance use disorders, and other challenges
• Familiarity with crisis intervention models and best practices
• Experience working in a remote or virtual environment
