AnewHealthRx is seeking a fully remote Senior Tax Analyst that will be involved in all aspects of the Corporate Tax Department. Under general supervision of the VP of Tax, the Senior Tax Analyst is responsible for assisting in the Company’s federal and state income tax compliance, sales, use and personal property tax filings, tax planning and accounting for income taxes, and mergers and acquisitions. This role will also work directly with business unit leaders and work cross-functionally with other areas of the organization, the finance team and outside service providers in carrying out his or her responsibilities.

The ideal candidate will have experience in the healthcare industry and approach tax and financial accounting duties with utmost discretion and confidentiality. This individual will feel confident enough in their technical skills to work independently but also possess the ability to work collaboratively with other members of the accounting team. Additionally, the Senior Tax Analyst must feel comfortable working with external auditors and taking on projects to support organizational growth.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation of federal and state income tax returns and to ensure compliance with tax filing requirements and regulations

  • Assist the VP of Tax with annual accounting for income taxes (ASC 740) including preparation of tax provisions, cash tax projections, and forecasting effective tax rate.

  • Manage the process and timely filing of sales and use tax returns, and personal property tax returns.

  • Assist with tax audits and communicate with government agencies to address and resolve state notices

  • Responsible for maintaining tax basis fixed asset records.

  • Collaborate with the Tax Manager and the VP of Tax to complete multiple internal tax-related projects as needed

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Tax,

  • Masters Degree in Tax preferred

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) License or candidacy a plus

Experience

  • 3+ years of related corporate tax experience in a public accounting firm or equivalent experience in a corporate tax or finance department

  • Strong knowledge of current tax rules, U.S. GAAP and financial reporting

  • Pharmacy/HealthCare knowledge preferred

  • Familiarity with tax and accounting software and programs

Skills & Abilities

  • Ability to prioritize assignments and manage workload within statutory and internal deadlines

  • Excellent analytical, technical, organization and project management skills

  • Proficiency with Microsoft products: Excel, Word, and PowerPoint and Adobe products

  • Strong communication skills – verbal and written

  • Possess a professional and upbeat demeanor

  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with different levels of employees and maintain the highest level of confidentiality

  • Highly detailed-oriented and organized

  • Superior analytical and problem-solving skills

Schedule: This is a full-time position with an expectation to work an average of 40 hours per week and be available outside of normal business hours to meet customer expectations on an ad-hoc basis. Schedules are set to accommodate the requirements of the position and the needs of the organization and may be adjusted as needed.

Travel: Travel may be required for special organization or department events, department team meetings, trade shows, conferences, and other client engagements.
