We’re building more than infrastructure—we’re building a team that pushes limits and stands behind every job we do.Position: Heavy Civil Superintendent (Nationwide) Location: Nationwide (travel required) Salary: $160-$200k R-2 Contractors is currently seeking a driven and experienced Heavy Civil Superintendent to join our growing team. This role is critical to the success of our field operations, leading crews and ensuring projects are executed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standard. We’re looking for a leader who is hungry, humble, and smart—someone who takes ownership, builds strong teams, and ensures the job gets done no matter the challenge.Responsibilities:
  • Lead and oversee all field operations on heavy civil and earthwork projects
  • Ensure health and safety is always the top priority on every job site
  • Hold General Foremen and Foremen accountable for performance, productivity, and quality
  • Step in and take ownership to ensure project success when issues arise in the field
  • Plan, schedule, and coordinate work, trades, and resources at least 6 weeks in advance
  • Coordinate effectively with General Contractors, clients, and project stakeholders
  • Monitor daily production, progress, and job performance to keep projects on track
  • Communicate openly with leadership when challenges or delays occur
  • Read and interpret project drawings and specifications to ensure proper execution
  • Utilize GPS systems and technology for accurate grading and earthwork operations
  • Foster a strong team environment built on accountability, collaboration, and trust
  • Develop and mentor field personnel, building the next generation of leaders
Requirements:
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Heavy Equipment Operator
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Foreman
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Superintendent
  • Proven experience managing large cut/fill and earthmoving projects
  • Strong knowledge of earthmoving practices and field execution
  • Hands-on experience operating heavy equipment
  • Proven experience with GPS machine control systems
  • Ability to read and understand construction drawings and specifications
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, schedule, and coordinate complex projects
  • Proven track record of building and leading high-performing teams
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to escalate issues appropriately
  • Team-first mindset with the ability to collaborate and empower others
  • Must be accountable, self-driven, and willing to put in the effort required for success
  • Willing and able to travel and work extended hours as needed
  • Able to pass pre-employment drug screen, background check, and maintain a satisfactory driving record
