About the Role

As an Onboarding Lead, Payroll, you will guide new clients through a seamless transition onto our payroll platform. This client‑facing role is perfect for someone who is detail‑oriented, tech‑savvy, consultative, and passionate about delivering an exceptional onboarding experience. You'll lead end‑to‑end onboarding projects, serve as the primary point of contact for new clients, and collaborate across internal teams to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and client satisfaction.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead and execute full-cycle payroll onboarding projects from kickoff to go‑live.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for onboarding clients, ensuring a smooth and positive experience.
  • Manage complex payroll data migrations and data validation processes.
  • Configure payroll software based on client requirements and system best practices.
  • Deliver training, resources, and ongoing support to new clients.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams—including HR, Benefits, Compliance, and Client Success—to ensure alignment throughout the onboarding process.
  • Stay current on payroll regulations and apply industry best practices.

What You’ll Bring

  • 2+ years of payroll, finance, or related experience preferred.
  • Fundamentals of Payroll Certification (FPC) or similar designation preferred.
  • Experience working within structured project management environments and tools.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills; ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including negotiation and facilitation.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to build strong relationships internally and externally.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to think independently and make sound decisions.
  • A collaborative, solutions-focused mindset with a high degree of personal accountability.

  • Timely and accurate onboarding of all assigned payroll clients.
  • High levels of client satisfaction and retention during the onboarding process.
  • Effective troubleshooting and proactive issue resolution.
  • Accurate configuration and validation of payroll data with strong attention to detail.
