Field Buyer, Tungsten Scrap

Location - Remote within the US

Job Summary

This dynamic role requires flexibility and will require a proactive and aggressive approach to stay ahead in a competitive and fast-moving industry.  As a Tungsten Scrap Field Buyer, you are responsible for sourcing (Hunting) sources, evaluating quality and purchasing hard and soft scrap materials such as hard for recycling or resale. You will assess material quality, negotiate prices with suppliers, and ensure compliance with industry regulations. Scrap Buyers often work with recycling companies, manufacturers, and scrapyards to secure the best deals while maintaining profitability. Strong negotiation skills and market knowledge are essential for success in this role.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Solid understanding of various types of Tungsten Scrap.
  • Conduct Research and collect data on the tungsten scrap market
  • Identify regions and develop a plan to secure tungsten scrap
  • Your plan should include various sources, including individuals, businesses, scrap yards and industrial facilities.
  • This dynamic role requires flexibility and a proactive approach to stay ahead in a competitive and fast-moving industry
  • You will work closely with the Program Manager to receive material pricing direction
  • Negotiate material pricing with suppliers, including scrap yards, for hard and soft scrap.
  • Clear understanding of market conditions, market drivers and market influencers.    
  • Facilitate material pickup for delivery to KMT Huntsville
  • Manages external relationships with tungsten scrap

Requirements

  • Education: High School  
  • Experience: Deliver exceptional customer experiences, collaborative, responsible, able to make high quality decisions, and set priorities.
  • Experience: 3 + years of business experience (Supplier Chain, Sales, Marketing, Finance, Accounting)  
  • Proficiency: MS Office, Excel, Word & PowerPoint, Customer Relationship Software. SAP (preferred)
  • Ability to travel up to 75%
