Global Trade Compliance Specialist

The Global Trade Compliance Specialist will support the Global Trade Compliance team by ensuring efficient cross-border activities and adherence to regulations, while managing trade-related risks and opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Support the organization’s day-to-day global trade compliance activities, ensuring adherence to all applicable regulatory and procedural requirements as required
  • Conduct research and provide guidance on key import compliance functions, including HTS classification, country of origin determination, valuation, duty recovery, and related regulatory considerations
  • Research, evaluate, and analyze opportunities for process improvement to enhance compliance, efficiency, and operational performance
  • Collaborate effectively with internal and external teams to facilitate compliant and efficient cross‑border operations
  • Contribute to the planning, execution, and maintenance of trade compliance projects, programs, and continuous‑improvement initiatives as required

Skills

  • 1–2 years of relevant experience in global trade compliance or customs operations, preferably within a complex import/export environment
  • Strong analytical and investigative skills, with the ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and consistently deliver high‑quality results
  • Hands‑on experience preparing and submitting customs adjustments and communicating with government authorities, demonstrating accuracy and regulatory understanding
  • Proficiency in Excel (intermediate to advanced) with the ability to analyze and manipulate large sets of data
  • Authorization to work in Canada is required for this role
  • Experience in the apparel or textile sector—within a retail organization, customs brokerage, or consulting firm is considered an asset
  • Prior experience with a Global Trade Management Platform (GTMP) and professional trade certifications (CCS, CTCS, or Licensed Customs Broker) are considered assets
