[Remote] Product Compliance Engineer, Associate

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. MKS Inc. is seeking an Associate Product Compliance Engineer to drive compliance and support sustainability initiatives for their products. The role involves partnering with the Global Product Compliance team to manage product certifications and ensure environmental compliance, while also conducting training and handling customer requests for product declarations.

Responsibilities

  • Closely partner with product development teams globally to implement worldwide environmental compliance requirements and standards, design for the environment, and utilization of safer materials
  • Stay current with global compliance and environmental standards and regulations through communications with third party suppliers and training
  • Work with global business units to ensure development compliance and legacy product continued compliance
  • Complete customer requests for product declarations or attestations of environmental compliance
  • Ensure third party lab scheduling, sample and documentation prep for testing
  • Conduct environmental compliance training for new requirements or revisions to regulations

Skills

  • Bachelor's in Material Science, Electronic, Electrical, Mechanical, Environmental Science, Chemical Engineering, Materials Management, Biomed or other applicable technical or engineering degree
  • 0 - 1+ years of experience with a focus on product compliance (co-ops, internship experience may be considered)
  • Interest in/knowledge of global environmental regulations and standards (RoHS, REACH, CA65, EPA TSCA, WEEE, China RoHS, and others) across multiple industries such as residential, commercial, and industrial products
  • Interest in/working knowledge of testing for FCC, CE (Safety and EMC/EMI)
  • Comfortable in environments that depend on influence to drive outcomes
  • Excels in tackling complex problems and synthesizing them into actionable solutions
  • Easily handles project multitasking with timelines
  • Able to travel up to 20% annually as needed to support MKS global business units
  • Ability to take and follow directions and instructions
  • Ability to interact with other employees, customers, suppliers, vendors, or the public, in a safe, professional, and respectful manner
  • Access to sensitive and confidential business systems and software, personally identifying information, the company's financial information, and/or the ability to maintain physical security and safety
  • Trustworthiness, reliability, and good judgment
  • Ideal candidate lives within driving distance from Irvine, CA or Broomfield, CO, but will consider other candidates
