Toxicologist​/Regulatory Scientist

Overview of Requirements Applicants must have training in and knowledge of all aspects of human health and environmental hazard and risk assessment. Applicants must have experience in performing qualitative and quantitative human health and environmental risk assessments to support regulatory requirements under the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA), the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act (FIFRA), the Food Quality Protection Act (FQPA), or related U.S. federal and state regulations. Experience with the regulatory requirements of the European Union’s Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH) is desirable. Applicants must have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Toxicology, Biology, Public Health, or a related scientific discipline, and at least five years’ experience as a toxicologist or risk assessor, or an equivalent combination of advanced education and experience. Experience working for a regulated entity, consultancy, or regulatory agency is preferred. Key Functions

  • Work with firm colleagues to prepare, analyze, and interpret environmental, toxicity, and public health data;
  • Analyze large hazard and environmental data sets, perform statistical analyses, and prepare data for regulatory submission;
  • Assess studies and resulting scientific data for compliance with applicable guidelines and regulations;
  • Prepare documentation in support of product approvals and regulatory compliance in North America, South America, Europe, and Asia, including new chemical submissions under TSCA, FIFRA, and EU and UK REACH;
  • Assist with technical review of proposed regulations and prepare scientific comments in response to such proposals; and
  • Manage assigned projects to ensure timely completion, including coordination with team members. All telecommuters will be required to adhere to B&C’s Telecommuter Policy.
