Job description: a national consortium of over 12,000 locally owned and operated Tutoring & College Advising Programs, is seeking an in-person tutor to join their team. As the In-Person Academic Tutor to help students prepare for standardized tests such as SSAT, ISEE, and HSPT. Candidates will be responsible for providing quality in-person tutoring to students preparing for these exams.
You will work closely with students to understand their unique learning styles and create customized lesson plans that support their individual academic goals. The ideal candidate is passionate about education, exhibits strong communication skills, and is committed to helping students succeed.
Location: Houston, TX
Compensation: $30-$50/hr
Classification: Contract (1099)
Tutoring Type: In-home, 60-90 minute lessons
Responsibilities
- Provide in-person tutoring sessions to students preparing for the SSAT/ISEE/HSPT exams.
- Design and execute customized lesson plans for individual students.
- Administer practice exams and evaluate student progress.
- Collaborate with students' families to keep them apprised of student progress.
- Stay abreast of changes in the SSAT/ISEE/HSPT exams and adjust lesson plans as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of session details, scores, and student progress.
- Bachelor's degree
- Experience in tutoring, teaching, or test preparation.
- Past experience teaching the SSAT/ISEE/HSPT exams is helpful but not required.
- Strong interpersonal and clear communication skills.
- Ability to develop customized lesson plans for individual students.
- Flexible schedule, able to work evenings and weekends as required.
- Ability to work independently and remotely, as needed.
- Self-motivated and committed to helping students succeed.
