[Remote] Sell-Side Deal Analyst

We are seeking a highly motivated Sell-Side Analyst to support business owners through the exit process by identifying potential sellers, preparing businesses for sale, and creating compelling deal packages that attract qualified buyers.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively identify and engage business owners in the $500K–$50M range who may be considering an exit
  • Build and maintain relationships with 20+ potential sellers at various stages of readiness
  • Develop creative outreach strategies across email, LinkedIn, cold calling, and industry-specific channels
  • Identify target sectors and businesses that would be attractive to our buyer network
  • Conduct preliminary financial analysis and business quality assessments
  • Identify areas for improvement to maximize business value pre-sale
  • Review financials for buyer-readiness (clean books, quality of earnings, revenue sustainability)
  • Advise sellers on common deal-killers and how to address them proactively
  • Create comprehensive, professional deal summaries highlighting business strengths and growth opportunities
  • Develop standardized confidential information memorandums (CIMs) for qualified opportunities
  • Prepare financial models showing historical performance and future potential
  • Position businesses to align with buyer acquisition criteria and SBA 7(a) eligibility requirements
  • Present vetted opportunities to Continental members and qualified buyers
  • Match sellers with appropriate buyers based on industry expertise, location preferences, and deal size
  • Maintain confidentiality throughout the process while maximizing qualified buyer interest
  • Coordinate initial buyer-seller introductions and facilitate information exchange
  • Maintain detailed CRM records of all seller conversations and deal status
  • Track metrics: seller outreach volume, engagement rates, deals packaged, and successful exits
  • Collaborate with advisors via Slack to ensure smooth deal progression
  • Document seller feedback and market insights to improve positioning strategies Skills
  • Strong analytical skills, including the ability to evaluate financial statements and business performance metrics
  • Proficiency in financial modeling, business valuation concepts, and creating professional deal materials
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to build trust with business owners
  • Basic understanding of mergers and acquisitions, business valuation methodologies, and exit planning
  • Attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality in sensitive situations
  • Real Estate Licence is required for this job
  • Must be willing to operate in a fast-paced startup environment with minimal guidance
  • Must have a high do-to-say ratio—earn trust by following through without reminders
