The role involves working with GIS platforms, satellite imagery, GPS survey data, and spatial databases to generate accurate geospatial insights and support decision-making. The candidate will develop maps, dashboards, spatial models, and web-based GIS applications using tools such as ArcGIS, QGIS, Google Maps Platform, and spatial data processing libraries. Key Responsibilities1. Geospatial Data Collection & Management

  • Collect, clean, and manage geospatial datasets from GPS surveys, satellite imagery, drone surveys, Google Maps data, field surveys, and spatial databases.
  • Maintain geodatabases, shapefiles, raster datasets, vector layers, and spatial metadata.
  • Perform data validation, coordinate transformation, and projection management.
  • Integrate datasets from OpenStreetMap (OSM), Google Maps, remote sensing platforms, and government GIS portals.

2. Field Survey & Data Acquisition

  • Conduct GIS field surveys using GPS devices, mobile GIS tools, and survey applications.
  • Use Google Maps, Survey123, Collector for ArcGIS, and mobile data collection apps for real-time geospatial data capture.
  • Perform topographic surveys, asset mapping, and ground-truthing for spatial accuracy.
  • Process drone imagery, LiDAR data, and GPS coordinates for spatial mapping.

3. Spatial Analysis & Geospatial Modeling

  • Perform spatial analysis including buffer analysis, overlay analysis, network analysis, proximity analysis, interpolation, hotspot analysis, and terrain modeling.
  • Use ArcGIS Spatial Analyst, QGIS processing tools, and geostatistical methods.
  • Conduct location intelligence analysis, route optimization, and geospatial clustering.
  • Analyze spatial patterns using spatial statistics, density mapping, and predictive modeling.

4. Cartography & Data Visualization

  • Design high-quality maps, thematic maps, dashboards, and geospatial visualizations.
  • Create interactive maps and web GIS applications using ArcGIS Online, Google Maps API, Mapbox, Leaflet, or GeoServer.
  • Prepare spatial reports, dashboards, and visual analytics for stakeholders.

5. GIS Tools, Automation & Integration

  • Work with ArcGIS Pro, ArcMap, QGIS, GDAL/OGR, PostGIS, GeoServer, and ArcGIS Online.
  • Automate workflows using Python (ArcPy, GeoPandas, Shapely), SQL, or scripting tools.
  • Integrate Google Maps API, geocoding services, routing APIs, and location-based services.
  • Process and analyze remote sensing imagery using tools such as Google Earth Engine, ENVI, or SNAP.

6. Project Support & Documentation

  • Collaborate with urban planners, environmental scientists, engineers, and survey teams on geospatial projects.
  • Prepare technical documentation, spatial data reports, and GIS project deliverables.
  • Provide GIS training, troubleshooting, and data support for internal teams.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Geography, Geomatics, Geoinformatics, Environmental Science, Urban Planning, or related field.
  • Proficiency in ArcGIS Pro, QGIS, and geospatial data analysis.
  • Strong knowledge of coordinate systems, map projections, spatial data structures, and geospatial databases.
  • Experience in spatial analysis, geospatial visualization, and map production.
  • Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills.
