Job title: Migrant Education Classroom Tutor Company: Fairbanks North Star Borough School District Job description: Note: Unless otherwise stated, all vacancies with a specific closing date close at 9:00 PM Alaska time. Job Summary: Tutors migrant students primarily in reading, math, and language arts, provides academic support to migrant qualified students in small groups, one-on-one settings, and/or integrate into classrooms, and provides support to classroom teachers with migrant students needing academic assistance. Hourly Rate: Grade 6, Step 1: $19.77 Work Day: 7 hours Work Year: 9 months Bargaining Unit: Education Support Staff Association (ESSA) Job Qualifications/Requirements (please review job description for qualifications and duties of the position): Must meet at least one of the following three qualifications: A high school diploma, or equivalent, and have completed the ParaProfessional Assessment, or have the ability to pass the ParaProfessional Assessment within four (4) months of hire; or An associate’s degree or higher; or Completion of two years of higher education (at least 48 semester hours) or the equivalent. High school-level knowledge of math, reading, and english. Experience in maintaining accurate student records and implementing educational plans based upon these records. Experience working in a collaborative instructional environment. Ability to work well with teachers, principals, and District staff. Proven ability to relate well with students and families from diverse backgrounds. This position offers an excellent benefit package including:
