Job Summary

As a Customer Service and Sales Professional at arenaflex, you will play a critical role in delivering exceptional customer experiences, driving sales growth, and building strong relationships with our customers. You will be responsible for providing fast, friendly service to customers, learning about our products and services, and providing information to customers to sell an entire project. You will also be responsible for maintaining the in-stock condition of assigned areas, ensuring a safe working and shopping environment, and working in cooperation with your Department Supervisor and other associates in your department.

Key Responsibilities

* Provide fast, friendly service to customers by actively seeking out customers to assess their needs and provide assistance

  • Learn about products using our tools and provide information to customers to sell an entire project
  • Greet, qualify, recommend, and close every customer in your department
  • Handle basics in adjacent departments, including Building Materials, Décor, Electrical, Flooring, Garden, Hardware, Kitchen & Bath, Lumber, Millwork, Paint, Plumbing, and Tool Rental
  • Maintain the in-stock condition of assigned areas, ensuring it is clean, shop-able, and safe
  • Provide a safe working and shopping environment by following all safety policies & standards, completing specified safety training, immediately correcting hazards & unsafe conditions or reporting conditions to the Manager on Duty, and working safely as not to endanger yourself, co-workers, vendors, or customers
  • Work in cooperation with your Department Supervisor and other associates in your department as well as other departments
  • Participate in sales and customer service initiatives to drive business growth and improve customer satisfaction

Essential Qualifications

* High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred

  • 1-2 years of customer service or sales experience in a retail or similar environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with customers and colleagues
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to think critically and make sound decisions
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to maintain accurate records and reports
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and stand for long periods of time

Preferred Qualifications

* 2-3 years of customer service or sales experience in a retail or similar environment

  • Experience working in a sales or customer service role in a hardware or building materials environment
  • Knowledge of building materials, tools, and equipment
  • Experience with sales and customer service software and systems
  • Ability to speak multiple languages
