Summary: The Title IX and Civil Rights Compliance Case Manager reports to the Chief Compliance Officer and supports all staff of the Office of Compliance & Equity (OC&E). Primary responsibilities include intake of reports, assistance with supportive measures and informal resolutions, tracking checklist items for each phase of the formal complaint process, monitoring dates for action item completion, assigning actions, and sending reminders, and maintaining accurate and updated case management information in the OC&E database and records systems, coordinating logistics for hearings with parties, witnesses and hearing panel members, collecting and submitting appeal documentation to the appellate officer, and tracking sanction completion. Job Description: Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in social sciences or other relevant areas and case management experience in a legal environment, higher education, or related field (typically 2-4 years).
  • Demonstrated exceptional oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations with cultural competence and in highly sensitive topics and with individuals experiencing high-stress or crisis situations in a professional, confidential, and consistent manner.
  • Ability to work effectively and collegially with a small team in an office with a high volume of work.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's or professional degree in social work, counseling, or legal field and 1 year of related case management experience in a legal environment, higher education, or related field.
  • Experience and/or knowledge of discrimination laws, including Title VI, Title VII, and Title IX.
  • Completion of professional training in Title IX and/or Civil Rights Compliance complaint intake and federal regulatory compliance.
  • Database management experience.

Conditions of Employment:

  • This position is subject to additional hours beyond the typical work week, to include evenings and weekends in order to meet the needs of the office.

This is a hybrid position. Annual Salary:

  • Up to $75,000, commensurate with experience.

Job Duties: 30% - Case Record Management:

  • Ensure all necessary documentation is updated, completed, and retained in the case management system, coordinating with Director of Title IX and Civil Rights Compliance, case investigators, determination official, and appellate officer.
  • Responsible for creating and updating reporting forms, workflows, checklists, forms, and all tools available to assist OC&E staff in building and maintaining accurate and complete case records.
  • Assisting with data collection and reporting through the case management system.

25% - Report Intake and Triage:

  • Responsible for monitoring all incoming reports of discrimination, harassment, sexual harassment, and sexual misconduct and providing initial outreach to impacted parties in response to reports received by OC&E.
  • Coordinates responses and outreach efforts with other members of OC&E as appropriate.
  • Conduct initial intake with individuals who walk-in to the office or request meeting with Director of Title IX & Civil Rights Compliance/Title IX Coordinator.
  • Timely process of all online reports through case management system, including review, case assignment, initial contact with complainant, confirmation of receipt of a report from a mandatory reporter, and assignment of CRT Initial Review task to team members.
  • Present resolution options for resolution to complainant and process formal complaints for CRT Assessment.

15% - Investigation Support:

  • Assist Senior Investigators with Investigation Planning, Interview preparation, and evidence collection.
  • Develop preliminary outlines of Investigation Reports for Senior Investigators.
  • Oversee the evidence review phase of the investigation .
  • Serve as junior investigator with Senior Investigator as needed.

15% - Supportive Measures and Pregnancy Modifications:

  • Ensure timely responses to requests for supportive measures and pregnancy modifications and proactively offer supportive measures based on complainant's needs. Under the direction of the Director of Title IX & Civil Rights Compliance, coordinate logistics of supportive measures and identify appropriate, reasonable, and available supportive measures and/or pregnancy modifications with individuals seeking assistance.
  • Assist in development of standard procedures for the assessment of supportive measures requests and pregnancy modification, including documentation required for such requests.

10% - Template Management:

  • Develop and maintain updates of communication templates for intake, supportive measures, and resolution process.

5% - Other duties as assigned Additional Job Description: Uses highly complex criteria, data collection, and interviewing techniques. Applies knowledge, training or experience to facilitate resolution of assigned cases, determine recidivism and develop appropriate action. May suggest abatement procedures to remedy problems. Uses measuring devices and instruments requiring analytical skill and a very high degree of judgment. Handles moderate to difficult assignments.
