Senior Data Engineer (Azure)
We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to support our modernization efforts. This role focuses on building and maintaining data pipelines, data models, and analytics environments as we move from legacy systems to a modern, cloud‑native platform on Microsoft Azure. This role does require the ability to obtain a public trust clearance!
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain scalable data pipelines on Azure.
- Develop data ingestion, transformation, and processing solutions.
- Work with engineers, analysts, and business teams to understand data needs.
- Support reporting and analytics by ensuring data is accurate and accessible.
- Automate repetitive data tasks and create reusable code.
- Optimize pipelines for performance, cost, and security.
- Manage data storage solutions such as data lakes and data warehouses.
- Document data processes and follow data governance standards.
- Monitor pipelines, troubleshoot issues, and ensure stability.
- Mentor junior team members and participate in code reviews.
Required Qualifications
- Strong experience with Python, Airflow, Data Modeling, Azure DevOps.
- Ability to obtain a public trust clearance.
- Database experience with SQL and NoSQL.
- Experiencex with Azure Synapse, Azure Data Factory, Databricks, ADLS, Azure SQL, and Power BI.
- Knowledge of ETL processes, data warehousing, and cloud architecture.
Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Chicago, IL. Pay And Benefits The pay range for this position is $65.00 - $80.00/hr.
