ORIGIN Operations Purpose:We exist to lead the teams and manage the systems to plan, develop, produce and deliver exceptional products and services that meet our customers needs and establish practices, policies and objectives to achieve the established purpose and strategic objectives of the Operations group and the business. Position Purpose:The purpose of this position is to lead and coordinate our commitment to building covenantal relationships with farmers and elevating sustainability and regenerative agriculture practices for our network of producers to accomplish the Operations purpose and other determined farm network operations objectives. Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with ORIGIN team and coordinate activities with ORIGIN farm network to ensure Operations purpose is being achieved, objectives are met, and activities are performed on time and within budget.
  • Participates in the planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of strategic business and performance outcomes, short- and long-term objectives, plans, budgets, programs, and policies.
  • Responsible for the implementation, operation, structure, and improvement of the systems thatmanages our Farm and Processor Network for delivery of products and services which achieves theOperations purpose and outcomes.
  • Builds, develops, maintains and manages Farm Network standards, certifications, announcements, audits and overall communications.
  • Responsible for ensuring all producers are equipped and competent to perform their role within the Farm Network system and optimally contributing.
  • Responsible for supporting Processor Network on all supply and procurement, PO management, production/supply planning and general trouble shooting.
  • Ensure efficient, effective and safe execution of policies and procedures.
  • Formulate and recommend farm operations improvements focused on regenerative practices for FarmNetwork.
  • Formulate and recommend processor operations improvements focused on efficiency and operationalexcellence.
  • Formulate and recommend internal/external product offerings and innovations that allow theorganization to maintain and improve its competitive position and the profitability of Farm Network andORIGIN.
  • Understand new and existing markets and customers and their needs, develop and deliver new andexisting value-add products to meet those needs
  • Continuous learning, awareness and understanding of innovations and practices that align with theCharter, meets the needs of our marketplace and customers, and continues to position the business as aleader in the industry.
  • Assist Farm Network with initiatives and tools to help keep farm maintained with excellence andequipped to meet the needs of our product standards and certification requirements.
  • Assist Farm Network in compliance with state and federal regulations, USDA Organic and RegenerativeOrganic Certification requirements
  • Actively monitors Farm Network Operations Manager purpose and outcomes achievement,understanding and analyzing the causes and factors that contribute to or detract from the organization’sand systems’ success, and adjusts organization's processes and operations as necessary.
  • Other Duties as Assigned

Education and Experience:

  • 10 plus years strong experience and competence overseeing farm and processing operations along withfarmer recruiting

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Possess strong leadership and team building skills – team competency, motivation, clarity, commitment
  • A demonstrated ability to develop and manage operational systems, value and lead people, and inspirecommitment and results through others.
  • Strong ability to communicate (verbal and written, internal and external), including formal writing andpresentation skills.
  • Ability to think ahead and plan over short, mid and long-term time spans including budgets, forecasts, etc.
  • Ability to plan, organize and manage multiple projects and priorities at the same time, delivering ontime, on budget and achieving project objectives and outcomes.
  • Producer training and development.

Work and Travel Requirements:

  • The work for this position is conducted remotely with required travel to our farm network locations along with emerging markets as needed.
