About the position The Energy Efficiency Branch is seeking a Senior Energy Efficiency Analyst (Public Utilities Regulatory Analyst V) to join its Energy Efficiency Planning and Forecasting team. The Energy Efficiency teams at the CPUC support the State's ambitious clean energy and environmental goals by ensuring that energy efficiency is the first resource procured before conventional generation. The Energy Efficiency Planning and Forecasting team, specifically, is tasked with the development of energy efficiency forecasts and establishing energy savings goals for electric and gas utilities and qualifying program results. This team spearheads coordination of energy efficiency with innovative strategies for building electrification. This team is tasked with developing strategies and policies for successful energy efficiency programs and interventions with our largest customers in the commercial, agricultural and industrial markets, which require custom planning and forecasting. The Senior Analyst will work with a team of analysts, engineers, consultants, utility staff and stakeholders in a dynamic environment with some of the highest-stakes, largest energy consumers and industries in the State. The senior analyst will interface with program administrators including utilities, Regional Energy Networks, Consumer Choice Aggregators, consultants, Energy Division staff and management, as well as industry stakeholders. This includes participating in discussions and negotiations with utilities and industry groups.
