Key Responsibilities

As an experienced Property and Casualty Insurance Customer Service Representative, you'll be responsible for handling a high volume of customer inquiries and issues related to property and casualty insurance policies. Your primary duties will include:

  • Contacting policyholders from our existing book of business through inbound/outbound telephone calls, direct mail, and email to review policies prior to renewal
  • Reviewing and updating policies to enhance retention and better meet the needs of customers
  • Counseling customers on appropriate coverage, policy limits, payment options, and state laws that will best meet their needs for sufficient protection against risks covered by Property and Casualty insurance
  • Making recommendations and/or changes to policies and gaining customer acceptance to process the changes
  • Receiving and responding to calls and emails received by the insurance service center, documenting all activity in EPIC
  • Utilizing knowledge of the insurance industry and club insurance agency policies and procedures to provide efficient and professional customer service
  • Providing quotes on endorsements as requested
  • Identifying opportunities to apply discounts, processing insurance verification forms for insured, and acting as a liaison for information exchange between customers and insurance companies
  • Processing changes to policies within EPIC and submitting changes to specific companies, following up with companies to ensure change requests have been processed in a timely manner
  • Reviewing policy information and referencing company-specific claims procedures to assist insured in filing claims
  • Mailing insured documentation to be signed and returned as necessary, following up to ensure documentation has been returned in a timely manner from member/customer
  • Recognizing cross-sell opportunities (membership and insurance) and obtaining quote information

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

  • High school diploma or equivalent and 3+ years of increasingly complex customer service experience in an insurance environment
  • Property and Casualty insurance license required
  • Membership license preferred and/or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet productivity standards
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Proficiency in EPIC and other relevant software systems
