Role Description The Senior Healthcare Practice Operations Manager provides strong, day-to-day operational leadership across multiple service lines—Virtual Urgent Care and Virtual Primary Care. Reporting to the Director of Healthcare Practice Operations, this role oversees a team consisting of Operations Manager(s), Practice Administrator(s), and ~150 Providers. The Senior Operations Manager ensures that daily operational execution aligns with strategic goals by guiding Operations Managers on:

  • Provider hiring targets
  • Licensure mix
  • Workforce planning Additionally, this leader oversees non-clinical practice operations managed by the Practice Administrator to maintain smooth, patient-centered workflows. Responsibilities:
  • Operational Leadership & Oversight: Provide daily management and support to Operations Managers and the Practice Administrator; ensure operational alignment and accountability across service lines within their span of control.
  • Workforce & Capacity Planning: Develop guidance for provider hiring, licensure mix, and capacity forecasting; partner with Operations Managers to execute these strategies and maintain optimal provider coverage.
  • Provider Operations Management: Support Operations Managers in overseeing providers within their service lines, ensuring strong engagement, high performance, and adherence to KPIs.
  • Practice Administration: Oversee non-clinical operations such as appointment verification, missing patient data collection, and patient outreach, ensuring seamless member experiences.
  • Performance Management: Monitor provider and operational performance metrics; identify trends and implement corrective action or improvement plans when needed.
  • Process Standardization: Promote consistency in workflows, documentation, and expectations across all service lines to ensure operational excellence and quality.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with clinical, product, and technology teams to resolve operational barriers and enhance provider and member experiences.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive efficiency and scalability by identifying process gaps, eliminating redundancies, and implementing sustainable solutions.
  • Leadership Development: Coach Operations Managers and the Practice Administrator, fostering leadership growth, accountability, and engagement within their teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
  • 7+ years of experience in healthcare operations, with at least 3 years in a leadership role managing multi-layered teams.
  • Proven success managing large provider networks or multi-site virtual care operations.
  • Strong understanding of provider workforce management, capacity forecasting, and licensure optimization.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage both provider-facing and non-clinical administrative operational functions.
  • Analytical mindset with experience leveraging KPIs and dashboards to drive performance.
  • Excellent communication, relationship-building, and problem-solving skills.

Requirements
