Engineer, Mechanical
Jaros, Baum & Bolles is a century-old engineering firm in New York City specializing in mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. They are seeking qualified Entry-Level Engineers to join their HVAC and Plumbing & Fire Protection departments, providing an opportunity to work on diverse projects while collaborating with experienced professionals.
Responsibilities
- Complete tasks on fit-out, base building, and infrastructure upgrade projects
- Assemble riser diagrams, schedules, and floor plans
- Assist in planning and coordination of major distribution systems, equipment rooms, closets, shafts, and risers
- Review shop drawings and perform site visits and punch lists under senior supervision
- Design HVAC systems including distribution, recirculation, and exhaust
- Design plumbing systems including water, gas, and waste distribution
- Work on facility utilities such as chilled water, heating water, steam, and condensate
- Lay out sprinkler systems and perform basic calculations for pipe sizing, design densities, and pump horsepower
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field (by Summer 2026)
- Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills
- Eagerness to learn and grow in a collaborative environment
- Interest in building systems, sustainability, and innovative design
