Accountant

AAR is a company focused on providing innovative solutions in the aviation industry. The Accountant role involves managing various accounting processes, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, and supporting the monthly close process.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for inventory, fixed assets, prepaids, and accruals accounting cycle
• Assists in implementation of control systems
• Applies fundamental concepts in the application of any judgments to relatively routine matters
• Supports a wide scope of accounting processes, including journal entry preparation, Accounts Payable, Inventory, Fixed Assets, General Accounting and Intercompany/general reconciliations
• Assist management with deliverables to Corporate and external auditors on a quarterly and annual basis
• Provides accounting for the assigned organization entity or facility, verifying the accuracy of journal entries, budget and accounting classifications and charges to assigned accounts
• Performs such individual assignments as supervisors and superiors may direct; ensures adequate and continuous controls are exercised over all assigned activities affecting quality; establishes and maintains effective work relationships within the department, the Corporation and the community; and maintains the professional competence, knowledge and skill necessary for the satisfactory performance of all assigned responsibilities
• Supports monthly close process
• All other duties as assigned

Skills

• Bachelors' Degree in Accounting from four-year college or university
• Zero (0) to three (3) years of experience required
• Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel required
• Knowledge of Government Accounting
• Pursuing or possessing a CPA
