Job Responsibilities

As a Senior Software/Data Science Engineer at arenaflex, you will play a critical role in the development and improvement of our advanced manufacturing analytics systems. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Applying knowledge of AWS technologies to design analytics solutions
  • Being part of architectural design and implementation of cutting-edge AI/ML technologies, including natural language queries
  • Building AI/ML models to identify parametric variation, suggest sampling based on historical data, and build predictive use cases
  • Ensuring scalability, system performance, and availability to support large data ingestion/analysis from our global manufacturing sites
  • Participating in agile development process and providing input and recommendations to the project manager
  • Mentoring and developing other SDEs

A Day in the Life

A typical day in this role will involve participating in functional requirements reviews, creating detailed design documentation, participating in sprint planning and execution, code reviews, designing experiments, and ensuring that the final deliverables meet customer expectations. You will leverage AI/ML and data science to uncover insights, drive efficiency, and perform data-driven modeling. About the Team

Our team is a small but client-focused group of approximately eight engineers who share a passion for developing products that enhance continuous transparency throughout our device's supply chain. We are committed to eliminating unnecessary work, automating processes, devising innovative solutions, and simplifying tasks to support our customers. We work closely with a large stakeholder community that ensures arenaflex devices consistently meet the highest standards of quality and performance, regardless of their manufacturing location. By using historical data to predict and create business efficiencies, our team will accelerate defect detection, implement machine-assisted root cause analysis and remedial action, and optimize processes.

Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • 5 years of non-entry-level professional programming development experience
  • 5 years of programming experience with at least one programming language
  • 5 years of experience leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability, and scaling) of new and existing systems
  • Experience as a mentor, tech lead, or leading an engineering team

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following qualifications are preferred:

  • 5 years of full programming development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build cycles, testing, and operations insight
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent
