Sr. Systems Engineer, PHY Standards (Wi-Fi/BT)

Synaptics Incorporated is a leader in AI at the Edge, transforming engagement with intelligent connected devices. They are seeking a Physical Layer Standards Engineer to represent the company in standards bodies, track developments, and simulate new features that align with Synaptics' vision.

Responsibilities

  • Track and analyze the IEEE 802.11 and BT-SIG and CSA standards
  • Communicate the new features and developments in the standards bodies to the Synaptics team
  • Develop simulation platforms for new standards’ features
  • Provide direction and ideas for new features that align with Synaptics road map

Skills

  • PhD in any field related to communication theory or related experience
  • 0-2 years of experience in Wireless communication and signal processing algorithm development
  • Strong prototyping skills using Matlab/Simulink
  • Must have attended IEEE or other major standard body meetings in the past
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Fluent with Python/C/C++ and familiar with TCL
  • Ability to travel up to 30% primarily to Standards conferences
  • Experience with working on WiFi-based solutions is a plus
