Job Description:

As a Lead Data Engineer at arenaflex, you will be responsible for:

  • Contributing to the design and development of our data products and data warehouses, focusing on data governance and data science
  • Planning and implementing versatile data warehousing solutions, building ETL pipelines in Big Data environments (cloud, on-prem, hybrid)
  • Our tech stack includes Hadoop, AWS, Snowflake, Flink, and Windstream, with languages including Python, Scala
  • Helping engineer data solutions/structures and defining data models for the core data warehouse and data shops
  • Collaborating with Data Product Managers, Data Modelers, and Data Architects to design, implement, and deliver successful data solutions
  • Maintaining detailed documentation of your work and changes to ensure data quality and data governance
  • Ensuring high operational efficiency and quality of your solutions to meet SLAs and support our clients (Data Science, Data Analysis groups)
  • Being an active member and advocate of agile/scrum practice to ensure well-being and cycle improvements for your team

Key Capabilities:

* Strong SQL skills and ability to write queries to extract data and build performant datasets

  • Familiarity with distributed systems like Flink, Hadoop (HDFS, Hive, Voila, PySpark) to query and process data
  • Solid programming skills in Python, Java/Scala
  • Experience with at least one major MPP or cloud database technology (Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery)
  • Strong involvement in data integration toolsets (i.e., Windstream) and writing and maintaining Data Pipelines
  • Familiarity with Data Modeling strategies and Data Warehousing standard practices and methodologies
  • Acquainted with Scrum and Agile approaches
  • You are a problem solver with strong analytical and relational skills
  • Ideal to have experience with Cloud technologies like AWS (S3, EMR, EC2)

Essential Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field

  • 3+ years of experience in data engineering, data science, or related field
  • Strong understanding of data modeling, data governance, and data quality
  • Experience with Big Data technologies like Hadoop, Spark, and NoSQL databases
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills

Preferred Qualifications:

* Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field

  • 5+ years of experience in data engineering, data science, or related field
  • Experience with data integration toolsets like Talend, Informatica, or Microsoft SSIS
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools like Tableau, Power BI, or D3.js
  • Experience with DevOps practices and tools like Jenkins, Docker, or Kubernetes
