Dovenmuehle Mortgage, Inc. is the leading mortgage subservicing firm in the United States with several hundred financial institution clients nationwide. They are seeking an Accountant I to handle data entry and general entry-level accounting processes, ensuring smooth transaction processing and compliance with regulatory training.
Responsibilities
- Daily data entry for client remittances, accounts payable and wire transfers/ACH payments
- Preparation of daily deposit
- Preparation and mailing of daily check run
- Preparation and posting of general journal entries into the accounting program
- Communicate with other departments to ensure the smooth processing of all transactions
- Filing of all paid invoices and checking copies
- Maintain a listing of all company files sent to the outside storage area
- Assist in any special projects assigned to the department
- Assist in document requests from both internal and outside auditors
- Successfully complete annual regulatory compliance training
- Performs other related duties as assigned
Skills
- High School degree
- Proficient with Microsoft applications (including advanced Excel experience)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Exceptional organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to handle complex, multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
- Effective verbal and written communication skills with demonstrated ability to always interact in a positive and professional manner with all levels of both internal and external audiences
- 1 year of experience in the mortgage industry preferred
- Bachelor's degree
