Position: Software Project Manager (Vancouver, Washington, USA) You'll be an integral part of our global team of dedicated full-time employees, comprised of technical architects, project managers, design specialists, developers, and QA engineers. We work hard and smart, delivering projects on time and on budget. Our proprietary process keeps us on track and ensures our team doesn't scramble through late nights and weekends to hit our targets. Our clients range from large enterprises to startups, which allows us to regularly learn and leverage new technologies across a wide range of platforms. We develop applications in Java, .NET, Swift, and a variety of other languages using an agile, adaptive process. We leverage open-source tools and libraries extensively. Formos Software Project Managers (PMs) are full‑time employees who are primarily responsible for ensuring that the software we develop meets the requirements of the customer and is delivered on time and on budget. Working from a remote location anywhere in the USA, or onsite at our Vancouver, WA headquarters, our PMs interact directly with our clients, helping to define and clarify requirements, manage client expectations, and ultimately deliver the software solution. They are responsible for leading diverse teams of technical project leads, designers, developers, and quality assurance engineers in the US, Vietnam, and Ecuador. They work with the CTO, sales engineers, and other technical leadership to create specifications and proposals, manage requirements, and validate software quality. Skills and Experience Strong PM candidates will have 3+ years of experience working as a technical Project Manager or Business Systems Analyst, however those with solid technical comprehension, ability to elicit and document requirements, and proven success managing professional projects may also be considered. Qualified candidates must be great communicators, and can show that they are able to work comfortably with technical and non‑technical stakeholders, in both verbal and written communications. They are adaptable, flexible, and good at thinking on their feet, and are highly organized, detail oriented, and thorough. Successful technical Project Managers are quick learners, and love to tackle new projects and challenges. They are also great problem solvers, who are patient and able to work diligently through issues to find solutions that balance needs with constraints.

Responsibilities

Include

  • Assist clients in understanding and documenting their requirements
  • Work with sales engineers to generate proposals
  • Write specifications for the development team
  • Create wireframe mock‑ups of screens and process workflow
  • Coordinate with developers, designers, and other project resources
  • Schedule and facilitate in‑person and online project meetings
  • Collaborate with the remote development team leads via daily video conference
  • Be responsive to internal and client questions and requests
  • Manage client expectations for timelines and budget, and ensure deadlines are met
  • Ensure all client requirements are met and the work is high quality
  • Perform demos for clients and Formos management, and provide occasional client training
  • Provide technical support to clients via phone, email, and video conference
  • Make suggestions for process improvements
