Hotshot Dispatcher (Remote) — Aggressive Load Coverage (Alvys + Motive + Teams)

Position Overview We are hiring an aggressive, high-output Hotshot Dispatcher who knows how to keep drivers fully loaded with minimal downtime. This role is for a dispatcher who can hunt freight, fill gaps fast, and manage lanes with urgency—while staying compliant and communicating clearly. Hands-on experience is required with:
- Alvys TMS
- Motive ELD
- Microsoft Teams
Responsibilities
- Keep drivers fully loaded: reduce downtime, secure reloads quickly, and plan ahead to maintain consistent weekly volume
- Dispatch hotshot and OTR freight using Alvys TMS
- Monitor HOS, GPS, and compliance in Motive ELD
- Work load boards and relationships to book strong-paying freight and protect margins
- Communicate load details, pickup/delivery instructions, and real-time updates to drivers and customers
- Track loads end-to-end with proactive check calls and exception management
- Resolve delays, breakdowns, and service failures with urgency and professionalism
- Maintain clean, accurate load/trip documentation in Alvys
- Collaborate with the team through Microsoft Teams (updates, handoffs, escalation)
Requirements
- 2+ years dispatch experience (hotshot and/or OTR)
- Proven ability to keep trucks moving and consistently cover loads week-to-week
- Hands-on proficiency in Alvys TMS, Motive ELD, and Microsoft Teams
- Strong understanding of FMCSA regulations and HOS compliance
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and follow-through
- Organized, dependable, and effective under pressure
- Reliable internet connection and ability to work remotely
Compensation
- 7% of gross haul dispatched
- Increase to up to 10% based on performance
- Weekly pay via direct deposit
- 1099 contractor position

- What is your target timeframe to secure the next load once a driver is within 4–6 hours of empty?
- If a driver delivers and will be empty by noon, what is your typical approach?
- What is the most drivers/trucks you have actively managed at once (loads + tracking + issues)?
- When booking a load, do you verify HOS legality in Motive before committing to pickup/delivery appointments?
- What is your standard tracking/check-call cadence for a time-sensitive load?
- This is a 1099 contractor role paid as a percentage of gross haul: 7% with the ability to increase to 10% based on performance. Are you comfortable with this structure?
