Experienced Full Stack Media Engineer – Night Shift (Data Entry, High Level) at arenaflex

Job Summary:

arenaflex is seeking an experienced Full Stack Media Engineer to join our team on a night shift basis. As a key member of our Media Engineering team, you will be responsible for ensuring the uptime and security of our live media creation and distribution systems. You will work closely with our team to design, implement, and maintain our media infrastructure, ensuring that our systems are scalable, efficient, and meet the highest standards of quality.

About the Role:

As a Full Stack Media Engineer on our night shift team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our media systems, including our playout systems, studios, and distribution networks. You will work closely with our team to design, implement, and maintain our media infrastructure, ensuring that our systems are scalable, efficient, and meet the highest standards of quality.

Key Responsibilities:

* Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues with our media systems, including playout systems, studios, and distribution networks

  • Design, implement, and maintain our media infrastructure, including our cloud-based systems and on-premises equipment
  • Collaborate with our team to develop and implement new technologies and solutions to improve our media systems
  • Work closely with our operations team to ensure that our media systems are running smoothly and efficiently
  • Participate in the development and implementation of our media strategy, including the design and implementation of new media systems and technologies
  • Collaborate with our technical teams to ensure that our media systems are integrated with our other systems and technologies
  • Provide technical support and guidance to our team members, including training and mentoring
  • Participate in the development and implementation of our technical documentation, including user manuals and technical guides

Requirements:

* 3+ years of experience in media engineering, with a focus on live media creation and distribution systems

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer science, or a related field
  • Strong understanding of IP-based broadcast equipment, including switches, switchers, sound boards, signal processors, encoders/decoders, video scalers, and playback systems
  • Strong understanding of studio technology, including video walls, cameras, VR set technology, picture processing systems, contact screens, lighting, and other related systems
  • Strong understanding of record-based workflows, including media resource management systems (MRMS) and cloud-based systems
  • Strong understanding of creation control systems, including Envision Interchanges and Grass Valley automation systems
  • Strong understanding of transmission systems, including RF (radio frequency), satellite transmission, fiber transmission, and other related systems
  • Strong understanding of cloud-based technologies, including AWS Foundations and other cloud-based advances
  • Strong understanding of SMPTE principles for broadcast TV and video creation/real-time conditions
  • Strong understanding of pressure methods, including MPEG2/4, HEVC, JPEG 2000, and JPEG XS
  • Strong understanding of Evertz programming control systems, including Vista Link or Magnum, EQX/EXE switches, and their monitoring software VLPRO, SDVN, celebrity, VUE, MVP
  • Strong understanding of Nielsen (NACAT), VANC hardware, Direct Acoustics, and other related systems
  • Strong understanding of facilitated collector decoders IRDs, core devices, edge devices, timing of video and sound systems, sound, and video media file formats
  • Strong understanding of AutoCAD and other specialized drawing/documentation tools

Preferred Qualifications:

* Experience with on-prem and cloud-based storage and compute foundation stages and current mechanical contributions

  • Experience with SMPTE principles for broadcast TV and video creation/real-time conditions
  • Experience with pressure methods, including MPEG2/4, HEVC, JPEG 2000, and JPEG XS
  • Experience with Evertz programming control systems, including Vista Link or Magnum, EQX/EXE switches, and their monitoring software VLPRO, SDVN, celebrity, VUE, MVP
  • Experience with Nielsen (NACAT), VANC hardware, Direct Acoustics, and other related systems
  • Experience with facilitated collector decoders IRDs, core devices, edge devices, timing of video and sound systems, sound, and video media file formats

Work Environment:

* Work will be performed on a night shift basis, with regular hours from 9 PM to 5 AM

  • Work will be performed in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with minimal supervision
  • Must be able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders
  • Must be able to work in a 24/7 environment with minimal downtime
