Responsibilities
As a Data Entry Specialist at arenaflex, you'll play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and confidentiality of sensitive information. Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Gathering, organizing, and preparing source documents for data entry into our system database
- Reviewing data for discrepancies, missing pages, or information and resolving discrepancies using standard procedures or returning incomplete documents to the team leader for resolution
- Entering both alphabetic and numeric data from source documents into the proper system database
- Reviewing data entered against the original source documents for accuracy and correcting any data entry errors or duplications
- Following data program security practices and procedures at all times
- Routinely securing information by completing database backup daily
- Performing other varied clerical duties such as sorting, filing, emailing, and proofreading as required
- Maintaining confidentiality of all personal and financial information at all times and in accordance with HIPAA regulations
- Performing other duties as assigned
Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you'll need:
- A high school diploma or equivalent
- A minimum of 6 months related experience; or equivalent combination of training and experience
- Experience in a medical office is preferred but not required
- You must be tech-savvy and detail-oriented
- You must possess complete knowledge of general computer, fax, copier, scanner, and telephone
- You must be knowledgeable of multiple software programs, including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and the Internet
- You must be a qualified typist with a minimum of 40 W.P.M.
- You demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness
- You look for ways to improve and promote quality and monitor your own work to ensure quality is met
- You demonstrate exceptional communication skills by conveying necessary information accurately, listening effectively, and asking questions where clarification is needed
- You must be able to maintain confidentiality
- You must be able to demonstrate and promote a positive team-oriented environment
