Job Overview
As an Elementary Math Tutor at arenaflex, you will be responsible for providing one-on-one tutoring services to students in grades K-5, focusing on basic elementary math skills, entry-level geometry, and pre-algebra. You will work with students to develop their problem-solving skills, build their confidence, and help them overcome test anxiety. Our ideal candidate is an experienced tutor and/or teacher who is passionate about inspiring young minds and has the integrity and knowledge to encourage students to excel beyond expectations.
Responsibilities
As an Elementary Math Tutor at arenaflex, your key responsibilities will include:
- Providing high-quality tutoring services to students in grades K-5, focusing on basic elementary math skills, entry-level geometry, and pre-algebra
- Developing and implementing effective lesson plans to meet the individual needs of each student
- Building strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment
- Maintaining accurate records of student progress and providing regular session reports to our office and families
- Effectively balancing tutoring hours given for each assigned student to ensure optimal support and flexibility
- Providing exceptional customer service to existing clients, responding to their concerns, questions, and requests in a timely and professional manner
- Following up with our office when a student's enrollment package is low on hours to ensure seamless support and continuity
Minimum Qualifications
To be considered for this exciting opportunity, you must possess the following minimum qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in the education field and industry preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in tutoring/teaching in specialized education fields preferred
- Credentialed tutors and/or graduate degrees are a plus but not a requirement
- Experience with basic Database/ Data Entry
- Ability to prepare accordingly for each tutoring session (lesson plan)
- Having a personality that is suited for different types of students
- Strong administration skills
- Strong typing, PC, and recording skills
- Having reliable transportation with current car insurance
- Access to the internet, a computer, and a smartphone
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following qualifications are highly desirable:
- Experience working with students with diverse learning needs and abilities
- Familiarity with educational software and technology
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Experience with lesson planning and curriculum development
