Business Analyst III (Unclaimed Property) (Remote)

Overview

This is a remote role that may only be hired in the following locations: Charlotte, NC, Raleigh, NC, Salt Lake City, UT or Phoenix, AZ. This position performs complex data analysis to identify factors that affect business profitability, growth, and efficiency. Assesses a wide scope of business practices, information, and industry trends. Determines improvements or solutions to address identified issues. Prepares technical reports by examining and summarizing data and creates specifications to support business initiatives. May oversee the work of less experienced analysts or assist in special projects as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Data Analysis - Sources, compiles, and interprets data. Performs advanced data analysis, effectively communicating and directing analysis output.
  • Operational Support - Provides support for business operations by responding to inquiries, identifying issues, and working to improve team practices. Assists in streamlining daily workflow for overall unit, resolving escalated matters where possible. Implements recommended modifications and enhancements. May serve as an analytics resource to wider organization or business units.
  • Identifying Objectives - Determines business needs through complex analysis and reporting. Develops strategies to achieve company and department goals, and communicates these through the use of specifications, project plans, or other forms of documentation.
  • Reporting - Produces reports based on data analysis, industry trends, and process capabilities. Conveys patterns, problems, and areas of improvement. May develop process enhancements based on reporting.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree and 4 years of experience in Analytics, or Modeling, or Reporting OR High School Diploma or GED and 8 years of experience in Analytics, or Modeling, or Reporting Preferred Areas of Experience & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience working in Unclaimed Property. Managing and tracking unclaimed property and general ledger data.
  • Stays abreast of and ensures compliance with unclaimed property law and regulation changes; timely prepares reports for states and audits; and timely prepares and mails due diligence letters. Reviews unclaimed property claims for appropriate documentation and identifying rightful owners.
  • Involved in developing and implementing strategies to minimize unclaimed property exposure.
  • Assists in technology projects to enhance efficiency of unclaimed property functions.
  • Assists in the coordination with internal partners to gather unclaimed property data.
  • Acts as point of contact for internal customers; providing guidance on unclaimed property and escheatment.
  • Trains and mentors staff on unclaimed property procedures, laws and regulations.
  • Acting as subject matter expert within the department and assisting in resolving complex exceptions.
  • Regularly updates department procedures.
  • Preference for EDT working hours.
