In EA's Global Affairs team, we enable the business through our advocacy, engagement, and partnerships. We are hiring a VP, Legal Affairs (Litigation, Regulatory & Public Policy) . You will be based at our offices in Redwood City, CA, Marina Del Rey, CA, Seattle, WA or Austin, TX. We support hybrid work. You will report to SVP, Global Affairs. Responsibilities:

  • Lead the litigation and government affairs/public policy functions, including organizational and budget management.
  • Set the overall strategy for both functions and drive EA's external advocacy efforts.
  • Inform and consult with company senior leadership and key partners, including for strategy development.
  • Manage and develop a team in execution of that strategy.
  • Directly lead certain strategic or complex litigation, regulatory and public policy matters and external partnerships (such as trade associations).

EA's Litigation team:

  • Manages most global litigation and consumer claims and arbitrations.
  • Leads, partners on or supports regulatory matters, such as requests for information, investigations, complaints.
  • The team's responsibilities include retention and oversight of external counsel, assessment and strategy development, discovery and case management, and engagement with internal stakeholders.

EA's Public Policy/Government Affairs team:

  • Leads government relations efforts and advance the company's public policy priorities.
  • Tracks and assesses legislative, regulatory and public policy developments that may impact the business.
  • Consults internal stakeholders to develop external policy positions that align with the business and ensure internal stakeholders are informed and consider policy landscape in making business decisions.
  • Represents EA with regional trade associations, industry coalitions and other organizations to strategically drive public policy priorities.
  • Leads and guides the company's interactions with government and other regulatory or policy stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • J.D. and minimum 10-15 years relevant experience managing litigation.
  • Some experience with regulatory or public policy work, directly or cross-functionally
  • You will have In-house experience in a mid-size to large company in a relevant industry (tech, software, entertainment, consumer products).
  • Experience managing and leading a team.
  • Experience working with trade associations a plus.
  • Strong communication skills, a passion for learning, effective at relationship building, ability to manage a large portfolio of diverse projects and issues.

US COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS The base salary ranges listed below are for the defined geographic market pay zones in these states. If you reside outside of these locations, a recruiter will advise on the base salary range and benefits for your specific location. EA has listed the base salary ranges it in good faith expects to pay applicants for this role in the locations listed, as of the time of this posting. Salary offered will be determined based on numerous relevant business and candidate factors including, for example, education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, and business or organizational needs. BASE SALARY RANGES

  • California (depending on location e.g. Los Angeles vs. Sacramento):

º $280,000 to $370,000

  • Washington (depending on location e.g. Seattle vs. Spokane):

º $280,000 to $370,000 Base salary is just one part of the overall compensation at EA. We also offer a package of benefits including paid time off (3 weeks per year to start), 80 hours per year of sick time, 16 paid company holidays per year, 10 weeks paid time off to bond with baby, medical/dental/vision insurance, life insurance, disability insurance, and 401(k) to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.
