The Director of Quality Improvement (DQI) is responsible for organizing, leading, implementing and supervising Westside Family Healthcare's clinical performance improvement programs. The DQI contributes to the organization's mission and vision by planning, designing, studying and assessing organization-wide clinical performance improvement, and by assisting with survey readiness (including readiness for Joint Commission and HRSA/BPHC surveys). The DQI is responsible for coordination of internal clinical performance improvement activities, managing activities necessary to achieve the Quadruple Aim at Westside (enhancing patient experience; improving population health; reducing costs; and improving the work life of health care providers, including clinicians and staff). The DQI must work collaboratively with the medical staff, leadership, and general staffing in support of process improvement goals, and should lead and serve as a model for identifying opportunities for improvement throughout the organization. The DQI also supervises the operations of the population health departments.

Responsibilities

  • Direct, supervise and evaluate the work activities of the population health departments, including the Cancer Screening Navigation Program
  • Direct or participate in recruitment, hiring and training of employees in departments under the supervision of the DQI
  • Develop policies and procedures supporting quality improvement initiatives that comply with the most current, accepted professional, Joint Commission and HRSA requirements
  • Plan and implement quality improvement activities within the organization in adherence with Westside's policies and directives and coordinate the QIC Committee
  • Plan and implement activities related to the development and implementation of value-based payment and alternative payment model initiatives, including activities related to any Accountable Care Organizations/Clinically Integrated Networks in which our organization participates
  • Plan and implement risk management activities within the organization, recommend ways to control or reduce risk, and participate in the Compliance and Risk Management Committee
  • Provide leadership for the Patient-Centered Medical Home model of care and for population health initiatives
  • Support continuing Joint Commission and HRSA compliance and readiness activities
  • Prepare activity reports to inform management of the status and implementation plans of programs, services, and quality initiatives
  • Maintain awareness of advances in medicine, data processing technology, government regulations, Joint Commission ambulatory care standards and health insurance changes

PM22 Requirements: Minimum Objective Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree
  • Registered Nurse
  • Three years of Quality Improvement or project management experience
  • Experience with team management

Preferred Objective qualifications

  • Master's degree in healthcare administration, public health or closely related field
  • Lean Six Sigma or other process improvement certification
